Transport Group Calls for Regulation of Motorcycle Taxis Over Safety Concerns

Transport group, Alliance of Transport Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (ALTODAP), has called on the government to regulate motorcycle taxis due to concerns over their impact on other public transport vehicles and passenger safety. ALTODAP emphasized that the surge of motorcycle taxis in Metro Manila is affecting the earnings of traditional transport operators, with President Boy Vargas stating, “This is not just about their effect on the income of transport groups. This is also about the issue of traffic and passenger safety, especially since many of these motorcycles are illegally operating.”
