Palace Stresses Marcos Retains Majority Trust Despite Survey Dip

MANILA — Malacañang said it is unfazed by a recent survey showing a decline in President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s trust and performance ratings, stressing that the President still enjoys the support of most Filipinos.

In a press briefing on Thursday, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro addressed the latest Tugon ng Masa survey from OCTA Research, which showed a dip in Marcos’ trust and performance ratings for the third quarter of 2025.

“Pero nandodoon pa rin po… Iyong majority po ay nandoon pa rin po iyong kanilang trust sa ating Pangulo,” Castro said. (But the majority still place their trust in the President.)

(Like what we said, whatever the number is, high or low, as long as the President is working and the government is there for the public, we are not affected by the figures.)

According to OCTA Research, Marcos’ trust ratings fell by seven points, from 64% in July 2025 to 57%. The highest trust came from Balance Luzon (67%), followed by the National Capital Region (55%), while distrust rose by five points to 25%, mostly from Mindanao.

His performance ratings also dropped eight points, from 62% to 54%, with a 26% dissatisfaction score. Despite these declines, OCTA noted that Marcos continues to maintain majority trust and approval, keeping both ratings above the 50% mark.

Vice President Sara Duterte also experienced a slight drop in ratings, continuing a downward trend in both trust and performance scores.
